Kirra Cheers is an internationally recognized photographer and visual artist based in New York City. Originally from Australia, her work is known for its raw, emotive, and cinematic style.
Kirra is drawn to intimate weddings, chaotic dance floors, and cinematic lighting. Her images capture both intimacy and humor, blended with the grit and glamour of New York City to push beyond the conventions of traditional wedding photography. With more than 15 years behind the camera, Kirra has a gift for putting people at ease, often joking that she is the photographer of choice for introverts and people who feel uncomfortable in front of the camera.
She holds an Advanced Diploma in Commercial Photography and in 2012 was named one of Rangefinder Magazine’s 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography. She was awarded Young Creative Australian of the Year by Lost At E Minor and currently serves as Artist in Residence for Mad Gene Media, a film production company founded by Oscar Isaac and Elvira Lind.
Kirra works with couples she genuinely connects with. People who value photography as an artistic collaboration and trust the moment to unfold naturally. Kirra is available for intimate weddings and elopements in New York and beyond.
