turn / sneak peek
catherine + eric / wedding day
A great wedding I am finally blogging from last year, I had photographed Catherine's brothers wedding exactly a year before her own. Have you ever heard of siblings sharing the same wedding date? So I got to spend time with two of my couples on a special day and we had a blast up in Solvang, just a little north of Santa Barbara. We photographed the ceremony at the Old Mission Santa Ines then headed to the Firestone Vineyards for the bridals and finished up with the reception at the Hotel Corque. A big thank you to Anna Joy Photo for second shooting for me and also to Nancy of So Happi Together, who also posted a bunch of favorites on her blog as well.
I took a shot just like this for her brothers wedding, so had to redo it a year later!
vanessa + lee / rock hard wedding
From an outsider's perspective, looking at my relationship with Vanessa and Lee it would seem as if we've been best friends for as long as they have been together (which is about 10 years) because of how much fun whenever we see each other. They were the couple with the biggest ideas and the were down to make those ideas a reality, as you will see with how great their wedding turned out. The whole wedding took place at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, so there was a taste of rock n' roll to go with the wedding day. Their wedding has been featured on Hi-Fi Weddings (which has a whole bunch more photographs) as well as the latest 944 San Diego's wedding issue. A big thanks to Mel Montoya of Something Blue weddings as well as July Chanthamart, who did hair and makeup for Vanessa and Lee (well not Lee's makeup, haha), and is also my personal hairstylist. Also at the end of the post is a video of their fun photobooth.
the top 20 / songs + photographs
I compiled a collection of my twenty favorite photographs I took during 2010. When I looked back over my work at the end of the year, these were the images I were drawn to the most. I can still remember the feelings I had when I took these, it ranged from euphoric to heart-wrenching. I decided to pair them with twenty of my favorite songs from 2010, while all the songs were not created last year, these are the songs that were my biggest inspirations to keep enhancing my life and my photography. A lot of this work I haven't blogged yet, so look for the full sets coming soon, enjoy the photographs and enjoy the music.
