I'm always honored when other photographers ask me to capture their special moments and doing so for Sarina and Daniel was no exception. They were visiting New York from California to photograph a wedding of their own so we had an opportunity to work together. I have to thank Instagram for helping long last family reunite (he is a Cruz after all), so thank you social media. You work wonders.
modern romance at the sky gallery
Hey all, come see me and some other amazing New York photographers exhibit our take on Modern Romance at the Sky Gallery on August 4th. Click on the image below to be taken to the Facebook invite:
I've been interviewing my subjects on their takes on modern dating, especially those focused on dating apps such as Tinder, etc. I've had some heartwarming and heartbreaking stories, come see some of the faces on August 4th.
Exhibit description below:
"Modern Romance is a living exhibit by The Brooklyn Collective to appear at multiple venues. It is an exploration of the changing cultural landscape as technology redefines human interaction and romance. At our inaugural event at the Sky Gallery, we will be exhibiting new collections, all seen for the first time."
laura & eleizer / you & me
Laura and Eleizer. They made this day so effortless. The love they exuded was spread all over Brooklyn. A big thanks to Tim Ryan Smith for shooting alongside me.
cynthia & eli / over the city
When Cynthia and Eli contacted me about my wedding photography and told me that they got my info from my good friend Lydia from Ever Ours, I knew this was going to be a dope couple. Cynthia and Eli are my kind of couple, sleek, stylish and Eli and I even have similar haircuts. So I went over to their place in Astoria, Queens as they wanted to showcase their view of New York City. While the day was close to rain, we found some great spots all around their building and were able to rock it out before the downpour began. Thanks again to Lydia who also featured their shoot on her blog, I'll see you in Los Angeles Lydia!
katie & greg / around the square
Whenever I get to photograph a dog, especially a dope dog like Larry, its always hilarious to see the expressions that they give me. They seem so aware (and averse) to the camera that I can't help but crack up as I can see what they're thinking, which is, "get that camera out of my face." You gotta love pets. And you gotta love Katie and Greg, who took me around their neighborhood for some fun photographs. I also wanted to share their Save the Date, which is designed by my friend and designer, Patricia Kim of Fourteen-Forty who is working with me on some branding (if I can ever send her my writeups), so definitely check out her work.
