What happens when you do a sunrise shoot on a Sunday morning in Manhattan? Nothing. The beautiful emptiness of the city streets is intoxicating. Plus, the light is gorgeous. I had the opportunity to share these quiet moments with Christine and Ted, we photographed around Christine's neighborhood of East Village and her coffee shop down the street. We then drove up to the Cloisters to take the in the views of the Hudson. Excited for their wedding next month in Brooklyn with the always fabulous Jove Meyer. Till then.
brenda & justin / look back
Brenda and Justin always sneaking glances while running down the streets, in the market and through the crowds.
laura & ryan / can't help but smile
When they say smile's are infectious, they must've been talking about Laura and Ryan. Have a great 2015 everyone.
kathrina & joe / through the dark
After a months long stint in California for a bunch of shoots, I had an opportunity to meet up with some photo friends in Los Angeles before I headed back to New York. Two of those photo friends were a couple, Joe + Kathrina. I had met them a few years back when I had a double wedding weekend and each of them assisted me for one of my weddings. They were relatively new to the industry and myself, having a few years under my belt by then, I thought the best way to help them understand the industry was to always have a never ending drive and passion for the craft.
Seeing them grow since 2011 has been exciting, all the people they have assisted and all the couples with whom they have shown their honest love, truly reflects their desire for each other as well as their photography. So in my little room at The LINE Hotel in LA, we ditched the conventions and just had fun. The way love is supposed to be.
esti & patrick / a match made
I had met Esti and Patrick when I officially moved to New York back in 2011 via my old roommate (miss you Ha Na!) and I instantly knew they were an amazing couple and even better friends. Esti is the sweetest gal I've ever met and Patrick is one of the funniest dudes, you can't not hang out with them without dying laughing. So they'll be getting married next month and sadly I won't be able to attend (as I have a wedding in Los Angeles) but I thought what better present then to do an engagement shoot? So we did what we normally do, walk around Brooklyn and go to the bar but this time with camera in hand.
